For trucks, tractors and trailers
Sprite Touchless Drive Through
Smart Wash Sprite –DRIVE-THRU FLEET WASHER
The Smart Wash® Sprite is a fast wash system designed to maintain large fleets. The Sprite cleans in less than two minutes in a short bay. Ideal for short bays and large fleets needing to wash 10 or more trucks an hour.
DESIGN
The Sprite is designed for maximum flexible use. The arches function singularly or in combination with each other. They can be added to an existing drive-thru to improve performance, used outdoors in mild climates and installed in compact wash bays.
The Sprite systems consist of the following major components:
In the wash bay:
Step-1 Arch, Step-2 Arch, Side Brush Arch, Spinner Arch, Final Rinse Arch or Rear Door Brush Arch, Guide Rails, Photo cells and Traffic Light.
In the equipment room:
Main Pump Skid with Control Panel, Chemical Metering Pumps with Stand, Hot Water Heater and chemical (soap and acid) storage.
An optional chassis washer can be installed under the spinner arch. It is controlled by the same PLC and photo cells that operate the arches.
TWO STEP CONFIGURATION—Standard
The Two Step Drive-Thru system consists of the following major components: Traffic Light, photo cells, Vehicle Guide Rails, Pump Skid with Main Control Panel, Step-1 Arch, Step-2 Arch, Side Brush Arch, Spinner Arch, and the Final Rinse Arch.
TWO STEP CONFIGURATION—Touchless
A Two Step Touchless Drive-Thru consists of the previous list with the exception of the Side Brush Arch.
ONE STEP CONFIGURATION:
The One Step Touchless Drive-Thru system consists of the following major components: Traffic Light, Photo cells, Vehicle Guide Rails, Pump Skid with Main Control Panel, Step-2 Arch, Spinner Arch and the Final Rinse Arch.
STEP-1 AND STEP-2 ARCHES:
STEP-1 and STEP-2 arches are constructed of two inch stainless steel with one inch stainless pipe and fittings. The spray bars toggle by air cylinder and they are equipped with chemical resistant nozzles for spraying of cleaning detergents. All bolts, fasteners and rivets used for the construction of either arch are of stainless steel.
SIDE BRUSH ARCH:
Two side brushes, each driven by 15:1 speed reducers powered by 5 hp motors, clean the sides of the vehicles. Heavy duty 4 1/2” diameter brush shafts with Polyethylene, extra heavy density brushes featuring flagged ends are mounted in 12” rubber segments. The side brush diameter is 60 inches. The large brush diameter provides better coverage with less damage to vehicle accessories. Vinyl coated nylon splash shields around the outer sides of the frame prevent excessive water spray. The frame is constructed of stainless steel with all bolts, fasteners and rivets made of stainless steel.
BLASTER ARCH:
Each side blaster assembly is driven by air cylinders, rotates 40 degrees either side of the centered position. This design allows the blasters to be aimed (pivoted) towards the front and rear of the vehicle being washed. The frame is constructed from two inch stainless steel pipe. The spray piping is one and one half inch. All bolts, fasteners and rivets are stainless steel.
SPINNER ARCH—Optional:
Exceptional vehicle coverage is provided by thirteen high pressure spinners mounted on sub-assembly units inside the frame. Each Side Spinner assembly, driven by air cylinders, rotates 40 degrees either side of the centered position. This design allows the spinners to be aimed (pivoted) towards the front and rear of the vehicle being washed. The frame is constructed from galvanized steel covered with stainless steel sheeting to reduce water over spray. All bolts, fasteners and rivets are stainless steel.
0°NOZZLES:
Each spinner has three 0° air venturi nozzles. These nozzles are effective up to T from the tip of the nozzle. The angle of the nozzles can be adjusted to suit the customer's requirements, and the rotation of the spinner is against nozzle direction for greater cleaning impact. Each nozzle is adjustable to 45° off spinner axis. This gives the spinners a 90° conical coverage pattern spraying forward, up, rearward and down. This effectively covers all areas of the vehicle.
SPINNERS:
The top spinner on each side sub-assembly are rotated by an electrical motor. This in turn then rotates the lower three spinners on each side sub-assembly by cogged belts.
Our motor driven spinners do not require any rotation assistance from pressurized water, nor a hydraulic brake. The system boasts spinners with 45° angles in the spinner head. This innovation gives unobstructed water passage and results in high nozzle pressure. Rotation is a constant 180 RPM.
The spinner heads are made of nylon and the shafts are made of brass. Thirteen high pressure spinners -- five on each side and three on top -- are mounted on sub-assembly units inside the gantry frame. This design affords easy maintenance access. The top side spinners are rotated by an electrical motor. All spinners are belt driven.
FINAL RINSE ARCH
The FINAL RINSE ARCH is constructed of galvanized steel with PVC pipe and fittings. All bolts, fasteners and rivets used for the construction of the arch are stainless steel.
PLATFORM MOUNTED PUMPS AND MOTOR CONTROL CENTER:
The high pressure, wash water and chemical pumps are mounted on a factory assembled and tested platform for easy installation. The Pump Panel is also mounted on the same platform. This reduces on-site plumbing and electrical work.
HIGH PRESSURE PUMP:
The high pressure pump used on the Sprite Spinner arch, is specially made for this application, it is rated at 140 GPM @ 390 PSI using a 40 HP motor.
WASH WATER PUMPS:
These wash pumps, operating at 20 GPM @ 200 PSI, 5 HP provides water, mixed with chemicals for the Step-1 and Step-2 Arches and without chemicals to the Final Rinse Arch.
CHEMICAL METERING PUMPS:
Precision metering pumps are used to inject the proper ratio of chemical into the system for the ultimate cleaning of your fleet. Adjustable ratios allow for mild cleaning or for extreme conditions just by simply increasing or decreasing the ratio of chemical injected.
MOTOR CONTROL CENTER, PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER AND MODEM:
Located within the control panel are the motor overloads, modem and the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). The combination of the PLC and the Infra-Red sensors controls the operation of all the pumps and solenoid valves associated with each arch. Through the use of the modem tied into the PLC, system trouble shooting to locate or isolate problems can be accomplished over the phone.
INFRA-RED SENSORS:
Consist of a transmitter unit and a receiver unit, each mounted to the top of staggered length posts. When the light beam is broken between the two units a signal is sent to the PLC to begin the appropriate operation.
TRAFFIC LIGHT:
Red/Green light assembly that is located near the entrance of the wash bay. Red indicates the equipment is in use, Green indicates the equipment is ready to wash the next vehicle.
UL LISTED ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS:
The system is composed of the finest available standard components. All components are approved by Underwriters Laboratories and indicated so by the appropriate UL documentation or labels.
WATER SOFTENER (Optional Equipment)
WATER HEATER (Optional Equipment):
The Sprite uses hot water during the chemical - wash cycle to maximize the effectiveness of the chemicals. This is provided by a 200,000' BTU gas fired hot water heater or an all electric hot water heater.
UTILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- The Sprite requires two separate electrical service lines:
1 – 480 V, 3HP, 150 Amp (230v, 3 HP is considered optional equipment)
2 – 120 V, 1 HP, 20 Amp.
- Water is supplied by a 2”, 40-70 PSI main water line and hookup to the city sewer is required;
- A 200,000 BTU gas line is required for the optional water heater if used.
