System Description
Neptune wheel and vehicle wash equipment is designed with the highest degree of flexibility that allows them to conform to a wide range of site specific requirements. For example, a system installed in-ground at one site can easily be reconfigured and used above ground at a later date. The self-supporting, patent pending design of the system eliminates the need for a foundation. Additionally, the structure of the system itself acts as the water carrying channels. This design not only eliminates the need for piping underneath the washing system but also affords the Neptune wheel wash equipment the distinction of providing the highest level of water delivery efficiency of all systems available.
The Neptune MAXIMUS Series Automated Wheel Wash Systems, manufactured in Hot Springs, Arkansas by Innovative Equipment Solutions Inc. (IES), are considered by many as the premium in industrial vehicle wash equipment. As self-contained units, the systems are designed using the principle of HIGH VOLUME AND MODERATE PRESSURE — essential to the efficiency of any automated wheel and truck washing system. They offer a CLOSED LOOP WATER RECYCLING AND SOILD SEPARATION PROCESS and can be configured to deliver maximum coverage.

The MAXIMUS Series truck washing system is the ideal solution for landfills, quarries, mines and construction sites, as well as for other industrial applications. Standard systems have an overall interior width of 114” and each tire wash platform TRACK IS A FULL 42” WIDE. The systems are suitable for use on all commercial vehicles and trailers that are permitted on public roads.
System Operation
The operation of the Neptune MAXIMUS wheel washing system is simple and requires no operator. As the vehicle approaches the system, the wash cycle is automatically activated by a Proximity Sensor. A technically engineered spray system creates an effective washing result for the complete length of the vehicle as it slowly drives through the tire wash system at walking speed. The angled profile construction of the wash area flexes open the tire profiles and supplements the cleaning effect, helping to dislodge heavier soils.
Maximus Series Systems can be configured in one of three ways:
G series: As a gravity feed system which requires excavation for both the tank and the wash platform
PR series: As a totally portable system which requires no excavation and includes ramps
P series: As an easily relocated system which will require excavation for the wash platform only
ALL INSTALLATION CONFIGURATIONS CAN BE USED IN TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT APPLICATIONS.
The two (2) and three (3) tire revolution models can be equipped with Turbo Wash Nozzles for increased effectiveness in heavier soils. The above ground tire wash system utilize ramps to transition from the grade of the approach to the base of the wheel wash unit. These ramps also serve to help dislodge some of the heavier solids from the wheels on the approach, help shake some of the water from the tires on the exit; and help control the speed of the traffic.
So what’s the key to a highly-efficient wheel washing system?
Two issues must be addressed: (1) water supply, and (2) adequate water detention time. Neptune Automated Wheel Wash Systems handles both well. Each MAXIMUS Series wash platform each MAXIMUS Series wash platform is coupled with the appropriate sized water recycling and solid separation tank to insure an adequate water supply for the continual delivery of optically clear water.

Each wash element on the MAXIMUS permanent and portable wheel wash systems are constructed with an integrated, sloped, steel pan designed to capture and discharge the wash water into both a steel or concrete truck wash water recycling and solid separation tank. Flocculent is then introduced to the system to assist with solid separation and decrease the amount of detention time needed to deliver optically clear, recycled water.
In gravity flow in-ground and portable wheel wash systems, as the system runs, th e wash water flows directly into an adjacent steel or concrete truck wash water recycling and solid separation tank via steel or concrete flumes. On all prefabricated steel systems, the number of flumes is determined by the overall length of the wash platform. In systems with above ground tanks, the wash water discharges into an adjacent water collection chamber, allowing for continual system operation. The collection chamber houses a pump that returns the water and solids to the water recycling and solid separation tank.
